“Our children are more than static data points in siloed systems. At Voices, we connect the dots across health, education, behavioral health, and juvenile justice to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. When we align systems around what works, we create stronger outcomes not just for kids, but for our entire state.”
Judy Fitzgerald, Executive Director

“The Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network is proud to be a partner and supporter of the Campaign and its collective efforts to ensure Georgia’s youth can thrive. Our work at GSAN helps to close the opportunity gap for Georgia’s young people, providing spaces that foster social-emotional development, health and well-being, and academic growth.”

Voices for Georgia’s Children turns data into action by helping leaders make informed decisions that improve outcomes for Georgia’s children. As a trusted, nonpartisan policy and advocacy organization, Voices connects research, policy, and practice to real-world impact across health, education, and child wellbeing.
Voices approaches this work through a whole-child lens—recognizing that children experience opportunity and challenge across interconnected systems. Health, learning, safety, and family stability are deeply linked, and effective solutions reflect that reality. This approach aligns with the Campaign’s four-pillar framework, emphasizing safe environments, strong supports, healthy development, and positive learning climates. When these systems are aligned, children are better positioned to thrive.
To make that possible, Voices advances policies that strengthen the building blocks of development—from access to high-quality early learning and strong schools to comprehensive physical and behavioral health services. We also focus on aligning systems so they work together to support children’s growth and resilience, particularly for those navigating barriers that can impact development and learning.
Voices promotes early brain development and student success by expanding access to high-quality early childhood education, including Georgia Pre-K, and strengthening supports throughout the K–12 system. In schools, Voices champions evidence-based strategies like school-based behavioral health services and multi-tiered systems of support—approaches that improve attendance, strengthen school communities, and create conditions where all students can learn and succeed.
This commitment extends across the broader systems that shape children’s lives. Voices advances policies that expand access to behavioral health care, recognizing that mental and emotional wellbeing are foundational to learning and long-term outcomes. In juvenile justice, Voices supports developmentally appropriate policies that prioritize accountability, rehabilitation, and pathways to success—ensuring young people have opportunities to stay connected to school, family, and community.
Beyond the school day, Voices works through the Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network (GSAN) to expand access to high-quality out-of-school time programs. These programs reinforce learning, support working families, and provide safe, enriching environments during critical hours.
Ultimately, Voices focuses on what matters most: ensuring that policies don’t just exist on paper but translate into meaningful improvements in children’s lives. Because when systems are connected and investments are aligned, Georgia’s children—and our state—are stronger.
