“I am excited to continue my engagement with the Get Georgia Reading collective effort because I believe in the mission—ensuring that all entities that are engaged with children and their families receive maximum system-level supports that will improve not only literacy outcomes, but also the lives of so many Georgians.”

Caitlin McMunn Dooley, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Early Childhood and Elementary Education

At Georgia State University, Dr. Caitlin McMunn Dooley leads several research projects that focus on how to improve Georgia’s literacy outcomes. A few of the projects deal directly with the educator preparation and effectiveness pillar as her department, Early Childhood and Elementary Education, hosts seven degree programs (from bachelors through doctorate levels) that support educator development.  The department also partners with the Department of Early Care and Learning to carry its Best Practices training for all Pre-K teachers across the state.
