“The greatest gift we can give Georgia’s children is a quality K – 12 education which prepares them for a lifetime of opportunity and affords them the ability to provide for themselves and their families. Early learning and literacy development are fundamental to educational success. As Lt. Governor, I’ll prioritize retaining highly efficient educators, increasing Pre-K access statewide, and increasing economic opportunity so that less students face impoverished conditions that suppress learning.”

Geoff Duncan, Lieutenant Governor

“During my time on the Forsyth County Board of Education, I gained a renewed appreciation for the importance of early learning and childhood literacy. I’m excited to become a member of this cabinet because I know there is nothing more important to a student’s continued success than reading proficiency by the end of third grade. I look forward to working with Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan to advance policy initiatives that assist with the fundamental goals and agenda of the Get Georgia Reading Campaign.”

Mike Dudgeon, Policy Director for Lieutenant Governor
